Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to all orders and projects placed with Paper Fig (“Paper Fig”, “we”, “us” or “our”), including our fully bespoke and semi-bespoke stationery.
By placing an order, paying a booking deposit or otherwise confirming a project with Paper Fig, you (“the Client”) agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order.
1. About Paper Fig
Paper Fig is a London-based wedding and celebration stationery studio creating bespoke and semi-bespoke paper goods and related pieces.
Paper Fig is a trading name of Melissa Goy, a sole trader based in England. Our address is 66A McCall Close, London SW4 6PU. Our contact email is admin.paperfig@gmail.com.
2. Bespoke & Semi-Bespoke Stationery
Bespoke
Our bespoke service is created specifically for each Client. The scope, deliverables, quantities, design requirements, production methods, fees and estimated timeline will be set out in your individual proposal, quotation or order confirmation.
Bespoke design is a collaborative process. By commissioning Paper Fig, you acknowledge that the final work will reflect Paper Fig’s creative interpretation of the information, references and direction you provide, together with our own artistic judgement.
Semi-Bespoke
Our semi-bespoke collection consists of existing Paper Fig designs that can be personalised with details such as names, dates, wording, colours and other options specified on the relevant product page.
Semi-bespoke orders do not include the creation of a new design or substantial changes to the original design unless expressly agreed by us for an additional fee.
Semi-bespoke orders placed through our Etsy shop are also subject to Etsy’s terms and policies. Payment, and any refunds, are processed through Etsy.
3. Quotations & Pricing
All prices are stated in GBP (£) unless otherwise specified. Paper Fig is not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
For bespoke projects, you will receive a quotation or proposal based on the agreed scope of work. Printing, production, specialist finishes, assembly, delivery and other third-party costs may be quoted separately where applicable.
Any work requested outside the agreed scope may incur an additional fee. We will notify you of additional charges before carrying out that work.
If the scope, quantities, materials, production methods or requirements change during the project, Paper Fig reserves the right to revise the quotation accordingly.
For semi-bespoke stationery, the price shown at the time of ordering applies to the selected product, quantity and personalisation options. Delivery and any optional extras will be shown separately where applicable.
4. Booking & Payment
Bespoke
A bespoke project is not confirmed in the Paper Fig schedule until the required booking deposit has been received.
The booking deposit is non-refundable except where required by law.
The remaining balance will be payable according to the payment schedule stated in your proposal or invoice. All outstanding amounts must be paid before final production and/or delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Failure to make payment by the agreed deadline may result in the project being paused, rescheduled or cancelled.
Semi-Bespoke
Full payment is required when placing a semi-bespoke order unless otherwise stated.
No design personalisation or production will begin until payment has been received.
5. Timelines
Any timeframe provided by Paper Fig is an estimate unless we expressly confirm a date as guaranteed in writing.
Project timelines depend on timely receipt of information, feedback, approvals and payments from the Client, as well as production and supplier lead times.
The Client is responsible for meeting any deadlines provided by Paper Fig for supplying wording, guest information, feedback and approvals.
If Client delays affect the agreed schedule, we cannot guarantee the original completion or delivery date. The project may need to be rescheduled according to our next available production window.
Paper Fig is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including postal or courier disruption, supplier delays, shortages, industrial action, extreme weather, customs delays or other events beyond our control.
6. Client-Supplied Information
The Client is responsible for supplying all wording and information required for the stationery, including names, dates, times, addresses, venue information, guest names, table allocations and any other event details.
Unless copywriting or editing has specifically been included within the agreed scope, Paper Fig is not responsible for writing, editing or independently verifying Client-supplied information.
Please provide wording exactly as you would like it to appear.
Where guest names or seating information is required, the Client is responsible for ensuring that lists are complete, accurate and consistent across all relevant stationery.
7. Bespoke Creative Process
The bespoke creative process will be outlined in your proposal or project confirmation.
Before design begins, we may ask you to provide references, imagery, colour preferences, venue details, personal stories or other material that helps us understand your celebration and creative direction.
Our work is created through Paper Fig’s own creative interpretation. Inspiration supplied by the Client is used as a reference only. We will not reproduce or imitate another artist’s or designer’s work.
Because bespoke work is created specifically for you, the final result may evolve naturally throughout the creative process and will reflect Paper Fig’s distinctive creative approach.
8. Proofs & Revisions
Bespoke
Your bespoke project includes 3 rounds of revisions unless otherwise stated in your proposal.
A revision means a reasonable adjustment to the agreed design direction. Requests that substantially change the original brief, concept, format or scope may be treated as additional work and quoted separately.
Additional revision rounds will be charged at our hourly rate of £45, billed in 30-minute blocks, or as set out in your proposal. We will confirm the cost before starting.
Once a design or stage has been approved, substantial changes requested afterwards may incur additional design and/or production charges and may affect the project timeline.
Semi-Bespoke
Semi-bespoke orders include personalisation of the existing design as described on the relevant product page.
A digital proof will be provided so that you can check your personalised information before printing.
Semi-bespoke proofs are not an opportunity to redesign the underlying artwork or layout. Requests for significant design changes may incur an additional fee or require a bespoke commission.
9. Proofreading & Final Approval
The Client is responsible for carefully checking all proofs before approval. This includes, but is not limited to:
- spelling and grammar;
- names and initials;
- dates and times;
- addresses and venue information;
- guest names;
- table numbers and allocations;
- quantities; and
- any other Client-supplied information.
Written approval confirms that you have checked and accepted the design and all information contained within it.
Once final approval has been given and production has begun, changes may no longer be possible.
If a reprint is required because of an error that appeared in a proof approved by the Client, the cost of reprinting and any associated design, production and delivery costs will be the Client’s responsibility.
Nothing in this clause limits your statutory rights where an error was introduced by Paper Fig after you approved the final proof.
10. Printing, Materials & Colour
We take care to represent colours, papers and materials as accurately as reasonably possible. However, colours displayed on screens can differ from physical printed colours.
Minor variations may also occur between print runs, papers, printing methods and specialist finishes.
Paper, handmade processes and specialist production methods may naturally produce slight variations in texture, colour, positioning or finish. Reasonable variations inherent to the relevant material or production method are not considered defects.
Where appropriate, physical samples may be available or recommended before final production.
If you choose not to order or approve an available physical sample, Paper Fig cannot guarantee that screen colours will exactly match the finished printed product.
11. Handmade & Natural Variation
Some Paper Fig products may include handmade, hand-finished or individually assembled elements.
Small variations between individual pieces are part of the character of handmade production and do not necessarily constitute faults.
We will, however, remain responsible for supplying goods that meet your statutory rights, including requirements relating to satisfactory quality and conformity with their description.
12. Quantities
The Client is responsible for ordering the correct quantity of stationery.
We recommend allowing a reasonable number of additional pieces for late additions, replacements, keepsakes and last-minute guest changes.
We cannot guarantee that small additional print runs placed later will exactly match an earlier print run, and additional orders may be subject to minimum quantities, production availability and additional costs.
13. Cancellations, Returns & Refunds
Bespoke
Bespoke projects involve design work and/or goods created specifically to the Client’s requirements.
Booking deposits, design fees and payments for work already carried out are non-refundable except where required by law.
If you ask us to start design work within 14 days of booking, you agree that you will pay for any work carried out before you cancel, and that your right to cancel ends once the service is complete.
Once bespoke design work has begun, cancellation does not entitle the Client to a refund for work already undertaken, time reserved for the project, or costs already committed to production or third-party suppliers.
If a project is cancelled before completion, any outstanding amount payable will be determined by the work completed and costs committed up to the date of cancellation, subject always to the Client’s statutory rights.
Bespoke and personalised goods cannot be returned or refunded simply because the Client changes their mind.
Postponed Events
If your event is postponed, please let us know as soon as possible. Where we can, we will transfer your booking deposit to the new date, subject to our availability. Work already completed and costs already committed remain payable.
Semi-Bespoke
Semi-bespoke stationery is personalised specifically for each Client. Once personalisation or production has begun, orders cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded because of a change of mind.
Where an order has not yet entered personalisation or production, please contact us as soon as possible. Any cancellation rights available to you will depend on the nature of the order and applicable consumer law.
Faulty or Incorrect Goods
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.
If goods supplied by Paper Fig are faulty, damaged, not as described or contain an error caused by Paper Fig, please contact us at admin.paperfig@gmail.com as soon as reasonably possible with photographs and details of the issue.
Where we are legally responsible, we will provide the remedy required under applicable consumer law.
14. Changes After Approval
Once artwork has been approved for production, any requested changes will be treated as additional work.
Where production has already begun or completed, the Client will be responsible for the full cost of any reprinting or replacement required because of Client-requested changes or errors contained in an approved proof.
We cannot guarantee that late amendments or reprints can be completed before the event date.
15. Delivery
Delivery charges will be confirmed at checkout or within your bespoke quotation.
The Client is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Estimated delivery dates are not guaranteed unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Please inspect your stationery promptly upon arrival and notify us as soon as reasonably possible if anything appears damaged, missing or incorrect.
Your order is our responsibility until it is delivered to the address you gave us. If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, contact us and we will arrange a replacement or refund for the affected items.
For international orders, the Client may be responsible for applicable customs duties, taxes or import charges unless otherwise stated.
16. Intellectual Property
All original concepts, artwork, illustrations, designs, layouts and other creative work produced by Paper Fig remain the intellectual property of Paper Fig unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Purchasing stationery does not transfer ownership of the underlying artwork or design rights to the Client.
The Client receives the right to use the finished stationery for their personal celebration and associated personal use.
Paper Fig designs, artwork and files may not be copied, reproduced, altered, resold, licensed, distributed, used commercially or supplied to another designer or printer for reproduction without our prior written permission.
Where the Client provides photographs, illustrations, logos, artwork or other third-party material, the Client confirms that they have the necessary permission or rights for Paper Fig to use that material for the project.
17. Portfolio, Photography & Social Media
Unless you ask us otherwise in writing, Paper Fig may photograph and display completed work for our portfolio, website, social media, editorial submissions, exhibitions, press and other promotional purposes. We won’t share private contact details such as home addresses, phone numbers or email addresses. Names may appear as part of the design, for example on place cards or invitations. If you’d like any particular details hidden, just let us know and we’ll blur or remove them before sharing.
We understand that wedding and celebration details may be private before an event. Where appropriate, we will avoid intentionally publishing sensitive event information before the event has taken place.
If you would prefer your stationery not to be shared publicly, please let us know in writing before the project begins.
18. Communication
Project communication, including approvals and important changes, should be made in writing by email so that both parties have a clear record.
The Client is responsible for providing up-to-date contact details and responding within agreed project deadlines.
Paper Fig is not responsible for delays caused by unanswered correspondence or late Client feedback.
19. Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
Paper Fig will not be responsible for failure or delay in performing obligations where this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If such circumstances materially affect your project, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and work with you to determine an appropriate solution.
20. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Subject to the above, we are not responsible for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for any business losses, as our products are for personal use.
21. Privacy
Personal information supplied to Paper Fig will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information supplied for the production of stationery, such as guest names and addresses, will be used only as reasonably necessary to fulfil the order and operate our business, subject to our Privacy Policy.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The version applicable to your order or project will be the version provided or made available to you when the contract is entered into. Changes made afterwards will not retrospectively alter an existing agreement unless agreed between us or required by law.
23. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions and any contract between you and Paper Fig are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you will retain any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer law, including any rights relating to where legal proceedings may be brought.
24. Acceptance
By placing an order, signing or accepting a proposal, or paying the required booking deposit, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
